I picked up this little drone mostly to mess around with in the backyard and see if I actually enjoy flying before dropping big money on a high-end model. The absolute best feature of this package is the controller. It has a built-in 4.9-inch LCD screen, which means you don't have to download any third-party apps or drain your smartphone's battery just to see where you are flying. You simply turn it on and you are instantly ready to go with a live feed.

As a complete beginner, it took me a few minutes to get the hang of the controls. That being said, the optical flow positioning and brushless motors do a surprisingly good job of keeping the drone stable while it hovers. I also really appreciate the full propeller guards. I definitely bumped into a few tree branches and the side of my house during my first few flights, and the guards took the impact perfectly without any damage to the blades. It is a very forgiving machine to learn on.

On the flip side, you should definitely manage your expectations when it comes to the camera quality. Having dual cameras is a neat trick, but the photo and video resolution is strictly budget-tier. It is perfectly fine for casual flying and snapping fun pictures, but it won't be producing professional-grade landscape shots. Also, while it is fantastic that they include two batteries to keep your flying session going, I found that each battery only lasts about two-thirds as long as the marketing claims.

All things considered, this is a fantastic, durable little quadcopter for kids or adults who just want to learn the ropes. It is incredibly convenient to fly straight out of the box and takes a lot of the frustration out of learning, making it a great value for the price.

I’m a beginner with drones, and I did have a little trouble controlling it at first. The battery life was good, and the drone feels well made. It held up well even after a few crashes, which is reassuring for someone new to flying.
